Educating the next generation to solve complex health problems through design thinking

3D Printing

In the Health Design Lab we are exploring ways to improve health outcomes and the healthcare experience using digital manufacturing.

The Lab is outfitted with a suite of Ultimaker FDM 3D Printers, a Form2 SLA 3D Printer, and a number of other digital and traditional manufacturing tools. We are always looking for new use-cases for these powerful technologies. One example we currently use this technology for is the production of patient specific 3D models for patient education and surgical planning.

We are currently exploring and conducting research on the use of 3D printing in:

  • ENT Surgery

  • High Risk Obstetrics

  • Cardiology

  • Radiation Oncology

  • Medical Education

  • Ultrasound Training

  • Orthopedic Surgery
