Educating the next generation to solve complex health problems through design thinking

Intern Insights: Week 5

After much anticipation, CoLab Philadelphia is officially operational!

We began Week 5 with our first pop-up event at McPherson Square Library in Kensington, where we provided reprieve from the blazing heat with free refreshments and sunscreen. In collaboration with the afternoon programs at the library, we engaged with the kids in outdoor water rocket building and mural drawing activities.

It was heartwarming to see the kids at McPherson remembering our names and wanting to assist us attract more locals to our airstream trailer. We are excited to return weekly with unique kid-targeted programming to foster trust and increase our presence in this community.

As for our 3D printing efforts, we are working diligently to push several orthopedic fractures to the printing stage in time for meeting with the hand surgeon. Additionally, our fibroid uterus model is nearing its final form. Stay tuned!
